Current-limiting device on Naberezhnye Chelny TPS (R & D)

 

In Naberezhnye Chelny TPS in a neutral block transformers T-3, T-4, T-6, T-7 and of AT-5, AT-8 current-limiting device TOW-N-110 was mounted to limit disconnected steady short-circuit currents and surge currents of transformers. Compared with conventional methods of current-limiting divisions network TOW has such advantages as: radiant action, limiting short-circuit surge currents to 1.5-2.5 times, limitation of the dangerous short-circuit currents in the transformer windings to 1.2-1.4 times. Application of  CPF contributes to maintaining the dynamic stability of electric systems in emergency perturbations associated with the switching random and artificial short-circuit. Application of TOW reduces the amount of power at the turbine discharge necessary to preserve the stability of 20-40%, and increases the capacity of interconnections to 25%.
